We provide pre-school children from 2 years 9 months to 5 years with a wide variety of learning experiences in a secure, caring environment, which fosters confidence, independence and self-esteem.
We can be found at the Highfield Church Centre, Highfield Lane, Southampton SO17 1RL. (Next door to Highfield School, Infants)
We are open 38 weeks a year and offer morning sessions only
XXXX has come on in leaps and bounds this last year and is definitely ready for school. He absolutely loves his days at Little Acorns and will be very sad to see it come to an end. (2018-2019)
XXXX has had a wonderful time at Little Acorns. She settled quickly and has always enjoyed her mornings there. She has a lovely group of friends and has really grown in confidence during her 2 years. She is learning a lot and always comes home with lovely stories she has learnt. (2018-2019)

Carol Romilly
Carol owns and manages Little Acorns.
She is a qualified SENCO, and liases with parents and outside agencies to ensure that we provide the best care and education we can for children with special needs.
Carol was born in Southampton and is qualified with a Diploma in Preschool Practice. She is married with two grown-up children.
Jane Gill
Jane started working at Little Acorns in 1997, after spending several years as a child-minder.
She has a Diploma in Pre-school practice.
She is married and has grown-up children and grand-children.
Alison Niblo
After gaining an English degree and a PGCE, Alison worked in a pre-school in the USA before returning to work for eight years in Infant schools in the UK. She has written five non-fiction books for younger children and has lived in Southampton with her husband for over twenty years. She has three children, all of whom attended Little Acorns, and she joined the staff there in 2005.
Nicky Heather
Nicky has a degree in Contemporary History and a Masters in International Relations and Global Politics and is currently studying for a Childcare and Education Vocational Level 3.
She has two young children, one of whom attended Little Acorns before starting school last year and one who still attends.
Her passions are her allotment, taking her children camping and getting back to nature as often as possible.
